Artilab’s New Luxury Leather Goods Factory Features Engineering by Cubicoff

  • Cubicoff has led the engineering of the project, including factory design, detailed engineering, technical assistance, and permit management.

The works on Artilab’s new factory in Ubrique this week received an official delegation from the City Council, headed by Mayor José Mario Casillas Ardila and the Councilor for Urban Planning, Francisco Gil. The visit aimed to monitor the progress of the works and coordinate the next steps in the project’s execution. This new production center, focused on the high-end leather goods sector, has relied on Cubicoff’s comprehensive engineering services, covering both design and technical execution, as well as administrative processes. The project, promoted by Artilab 2014 S.L. with Area Construcción as the construction company, is being developed on a 11,185.70 m² plot with an irregular morphology and slopes of up to 15–16%, which posed a significant technical challenge. Cubicoff has been responsible for the integral engineering of the project: factory design, urban development, drafting of basic and execution projects, and permit processing. During the institutional visit, key milestones achieved to date were reviewed, and technical aspects were discussed to ensure the proper development of the works. Measures were also addressed to improve the integration of the project into the urban environment and minimize impact during the execution phase. In addition to the industrial plant, the project includes complementary infrastructure such as a supply and sanitation line, an urban park, and the undergrounding of facilities, thus contributing to the sustainable development of the area. David Pérez, CEO of Cubicoff, highlighted the importance of the project: “This is a significant milestone both for Cubicoff and for Ubrique’s industry. Our team has worked with precision and dedication to develop an innovative engineering solution that meets the client’s high standards. We are proud to contribute to the expansion of a growing sector and to continue demonstrating our capability in large-scale projects.” Manuel Enríquez Aumesquet, founder and CEO of Artilab, noted after the visit: “This project marks a turning point for the leather goods industry in Ubrique. The new factory will host more than 600 workers, generating quality employment and positioning the town as an international benchmark in the sector. It will also serve as a hub to attract new investments and luxury brands interested in establishing themselves in the area.” For his part, Gonzalo Pérez, the project’s architect, underlined the technical challenge of adapting the design to the site’s complex topography: “From the beginning, we faced a unique challenge due to the terrain’s orography. We designed an architectural solution that optimizes space and functionality while respecting integration with its surroundings. This project is a clear example of how engineering and architecture can work together to meet the needs of the industry.” With this project, Cubicoff reaffirms its commitment to engineering excellence and its ability to develop innovative and sustainable solutions for the luxury leather goods industry.
